Uveitis Clinic

Uveitis service at our center involves expert diagnosis and treatment of intraocular inflammation with the use of extensive laboratory investigations including Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) analysis, advanced ocular imaging techniques procedures such as Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Optical Coherence Tomography with angiography (OCTA). We are the first eye care center in Nepal to incorporate PCR in diagnostic procedures which help to identify the exact infectious etiology of uveitis.

Periocular

Periocular injection is an ocular route of drug administration. It is well-established route of treatment for severe uveitis by using corticosteroids.

Intravitreal steroid

IVSI are a new way of treating eye conditions, particularly macular oedema in retinal vein occlusion, uveitis, and less commonly diabetic retinopathy and other conditions. The steroid drug is prepared in a tiny capsule, and this is inserted into the eye with a small injection.

Steroid implant

Steroid sinus implants are designed for those patients who have had prior sinus surgery. Within the implant is a steroid that eludes over time, reducing the inflammation, scarring, and polyps in the sinuses. The implant is bioabsorbable meaning that over time the implant will dissolve.

Immunosuppressive

Immunosuppressive drugs, also known as immunosuppressive agents, immunosuppressants and antirejection medications, are drugs that inhibit or prevent activity of the immune system.
